Rules for Top Score
1. Competitors may start the course by crossing the start line in either direction.
2. They have 45 seconds. Each fence may be jumped twice in either direction and in
any order. Jumping a fence a third time does not incur elimination but no score is added.
3. The bell is rung at the end of 45 seconds. If the competitor has taken off over an
obstacle at this time the points for the obstacle are counted. The competitor must
then cross the finish line in either direction to obtain a time for the course. If points are equal this time is used to determine places.
4. Any obstacle knocked down will not be rebuilt. For fences 10 to 100 there is no penalty for a knock down. A fence cannot be jumped again once it has been knocked down.
5. Fence 200 is a ‘joker’. It also may be jumped twice at any stage in the course but if knocked down incurs a deduction of 200 points.
6. A competitor may not continue after a fall. However any points scored prior to the fall count.
7. If a competitor finishes the course (jumps every fence twice) before the time allowed has lapsed they must cross the finish line. The time is taken from when they cross the finish line and the fastest competitor on total possible score will win.
